Welcome to The Game Within The Game!  Forty-four short years ago, soccer became my passion.  I was on a three week tour of nine countries with the Yale University Coach Hubert Vogelsinger and a team of Americans, and my life was changed forever.  I was hooked.

From there, I took my USSF coaching license from Dettmar Cramer and off I went to coach at Whittier College(and for my masters degree) and a year later to UCLA for two seasons (where Sigi Schmid was a student-athlete).  I was then hired into the NASL as the youngest coach in professional sports at age 25 with the Los Angeles Aztecs. It all seems like yesterday.

In the past 44 years, I have travelled the world, and the common denominator is the GAME.  Today, I serve as the CEO of Washington Youth Soccer and I call on my lessons learned from the game each and every day.  Through this blog, I will share what this sport has given me with all of you soccer enthusiasts here in Washington.

Everything is possible and I encourage everyone to just “go for it”.
